If you feel nervous when you’re in a trade when taking some heat, I posted this in the chat today. I think it will help:
Most trades don’t go straight to your target. Markets usually put up a fight first. If trading were that easy, everyone would be rich by now.
Occasionally, we’ll have months, or even quarters, where we double our net worth. Most of the time, though, we’re simply fighting for a small edge in the market, alongside banks and professional trading firms, trying to take money from each other.
Even “just” 5% per month compounds incredibly over time. A $10,000 account growing at 5% monthly would reach $100 million in about 15.7 years.
Averaging 5% a month is a very achievable goal if you stick around with me. Of course, I’ll still aim for 100% months whenever the opportunities are there, and I’ll take calculated risks when I believe the odds justify them.
Many of you have already seen me do this, and some of you have even seen me use significant leverage when conditions were right.
I’ve been through enough market cycles to know that consistency is what builds long-term wealth. All you need to do is avoid getting wiped out, stay short during major bear markets, and stay long during strong bull markets.
