LONG-TERM SWING TRADE IDEA
$PFE LONG
Trading in the bottom third of a 10-year range. A higher low, a mini-box breakout trigger, and a 6.5% dividend yield all point to an attractive long setup.
Trade Setup
Entry: $26.40
Stop: $23.32
Target: $33.00 zone
The Few Trades That Matter: No
Risk Management
Suppose your account is $100,000 and you risk 2% per trade. Your maximum loss is therefore $2,000.
Entry: $26.40
Stop: $23.32
Risk per share: $3.08
Position size: 649 shares
Position value: ~$17,134
Maximum loss: ~$1,999
Potential reward: $6.60 per share, or ~$4,283 if the target is reached.
That gives us a 2.1:1 risk/reward ratio.
Mathematically, the trade needs to win approximately 32% of the time to break even, before fees, slippage and other costs.
I believe the probability of success is significantly higher than that.
As always, adjust the position size according to your own account size and risk tolerance.
📌 Final Note
These updates reflect my structured trade management and probability-based analysis, not financial advice.
I may exit and re-enter positions as new information becomes available. If you prefer a more hands-off approach, following the original stop and target should work just fine over a large sample of trades. The difference in performance is unlikely to be significant, as many of these adjustments tend to balance out over time.
Risk management and position sizing remain the foundation for long-term survival.
