Eli Lilly ($LLY) has recently shown increasing weakness, and the chart structure has now turned bearish.
That is why I’m currently short the stock.
In this analysis, I explain the technical setup, why I entered the short position, and what I’m watching next.
Why I’m Short $LLY
The recent price action has changed the structure of the chart.
After the earlier trend weakened, selling pressure increased and the market structure started to favor the bears. The latest move lower adds further confirmation that sellers are gaining control.
No chart setup is guaranteed, of course. Markets operate on probabilities rather than certainty. But based on the current structure, the odds now favor more downside.
What Is Likely Next?
The key question is whether the current selling develops into another leg lower.
Bearish structures often evolve into a series of lower highs and lower lows. If that pattern continues, the current move could be the beginning of a larger downside swing rather than just a temporary pullback.
That is the main scenario I’m watching.
Risk Management Remains Important
Being bearish on a stock does not mean the market cannot rally first.
Short positions can move against you quickly, especially in large and volatile stocks. That is why position sizing and risk management remain essential.
I manage every trade based on probabilities and predefined risk rather than trying to predict every move perfectly.
My Current View on LLY
For now, the chart structure remains bearish and the odds favor more downside.
That is why I’m short $LLY.
The next few price moves will help determine whether the current weakness develops into a larger bearish swing or whether buyers are able to regain control.
For now, the bears have the edge.
