AppLovin ($APP) Sold Off Strongly, But I’m Waiting for a Better Entry

augustus 21, 2026 · 2 min read

AppLovin ($APP) sold off strongly, but a sharp decline alone does not automatically create a good buying opportunity.

For me, the key is not simply buying because the stock is lower. I want the combination of a high-probability setup and attractive risk/reward.

At the current level, I believe $APP still needs to move lower before that setup develops.

Why Waiting Can Be Better Than Buying the Dip

After a strong selloff, many traders immediately look for a reversal. Sometimes that works, but sharp selling can also continue much further than expected.

The goal is not to catch the exact bottom.

The goal is to wait until the potential reward becomes large enough relative to the risk.

If $APP moves lower, the chart could eventually offer a more attractive entry with a clearer stop level and better upside relative to the downside risk.

That is the setup I am waiting for.

Price Matters, But Risk/Reward Matters More

A stock can be fundamentally attractive and still be a poor trade at the current price.

Likewise, a stock that has already sold off significantly can still have more downside before it becomes a high-probability opportunity.

For $APP, I am not interested in chasing the move lower or blindly buying the dip.

I would rather wait for the market to bring the stock into a better risk/reward zone.

Patience is often the most important part of trading.
