Moderna ($MRNA) has experienced a major move higher, and the stock is now trading near the top of an important range. After the sharp rally, the key question is whether MRNA can break out and continue higher or whether we see another pullback first.
In this video, I look at the current MRNA price action, the trading range, the key resistance level, and the two scenarios I am watching from here.
MRNA Price Action
The MRNA chart shows a powerful recovery from the lows, followed by a strong acceleration higher.
After the initial rally, price moved into a consolidation range. This range has become increasingly important because MRNA is now approaching the upper boundary.
The recent price action shows buyers maintaining control, but the stock is also becoming more extended after the substantial move from the lows.
MRNA Trading Range
The current box is one of the most important structures on the chart.
Price has spent time consolidating inside this range, with the upper boundary acting as resistance and the lower portion providing support.
A confirmed breakout above the range could create a new leg higher.
On the other hand, rejection near the top of the range could send MRNA back toward the lower part of the box before another attempt.
This is why I am watching the reaction around the range high rather than assuming that the next move is already decided.
MRNA Breakout Scenario
The bullish scenario is a clean breakout above the current range.
If MRNA can break through resistance and hold above it, the next move could be significantly higher. The chart shows a potential path toward the $260–$270 area if the breakout develops into another strong leg.
The important part is confirmation. I want to see price actually break the range rather than simply trade temporarily above resistance.
MRNA Pullback Scenario
There is also a very clear alternative scenario.
If the breakout fails, MRNA could reverse back into the range and potentially move toward the lower part of the consolidation.
A deeper pullback toward the $120–$130 area would not necessarily destroy the larger bullish structure. It could simply represent another test of support before the next attempt higher.
This is particularly important after such a large move because strong stocks can experience substantial pullbacks without completely changing their longer-term structure.
MRNA Short Squeeze
The short squeeze remains an important part of the MRNA story.
With a large number of shares still held short, continued strength can create additional buying pressure as short sellers cover positions.
However, short interest alone does not guarantee that the stock will continue higher. Price action and the reaction around major resistance remain the key factors I am watching.
MRNA Outlook
MRNA is now at an important decision point.
A confirmed breakout above the current range could open the door toward the $260–$270 area, while a rejection could send the stock back toward the lower part of the range and potentially the $120–$130 area.
For me, the most important thing is how price behaves around the range high.
The stock has already made a massive move, but the current structure could still produce another significant move in either direction.
I am focused on the probability of each scenario, the price action around the key levels, and the risk/reward rather than trying to predict the exact top.
