Watch out: Earnings are in about two hours, so keep the position very small. If the stock sells off sharply on earnings while the long-term thesis remains intact, I may add to the position at lower prices.

The main reason for this trade is that the current trading range (pink box) appears ready to transition into its next phase, a sustained trend. I’ve covered this concept extensively in previous videos.

Because of this pink box, even moderately positive earnings could trigger an explosive move higher. That’s why I’m willing to take a small position ahead of the report.

Trade Setup

Entry: $24

Stop: $14.30 (should be more than enough, even if earnings disappoint. If the stock crashes but the thesis remains intact, I may double the position.)

Target: $50 zone

Risk Management

Suppose your account is $100,000 and you risk 1% per trade. That means your maximum loss is $1,000.

With an entry at $24.00 and a stop at $14.30, your risk is $9.70 per share.

Position size:

103 shares

Total position value: $2,472

Maximum loss if stopped out: $999 (approximately 1% of the account)

The potential reward is approximately $26 per share, or about $2,678 if the target is reached.

That results in a risk-to-reward ratio of approximately 2.7:1, meaning the trade is mathematically break-even with only about a 27% win rate. I believe the probability of success is significantly higher than that.

As always, adjust your position size according to your own risk tolerance.
