Apple Stock Analysis: Is AAPL Setting Up for a Bull Trap?

oktober 12, 2026 · 3 min read

Apple stock (AAPL) is showing signs of weakness on the weekly chart. Every time the price makes a new high, it comes back into the previous trading range. This is a sign that the current move is much weaker than a healthy bullish trend.

I think Apple stock is more likely to roll over into a trading range than resume its bullish trend. My downside target is below $300.

Here’s why.

Apple Stock: Weak Price Action on the Weekly Chart

The current leg higher in Apple stock looks weak because every time we make a new high, the price comes all the way back into the previous range.

And now, we are coming back into that range again.

To me, this is a sign that we are in a trading range, not a trend.

In a strong bullish trend, breakouts should lead to higher lows that hold above the previous range. When price repeatedly falls back into the range, it signals weakness.

Comparing AAPL Stock With the 2025 Bullish Trend

To understand the difference, let’s compare the current price action with what happened in 2025.

Back then, every time Apple stock broke out to a new high, the next higher low stayed above the previous range.

This higher low did not touch the previous range, and neither did the next one.

That was a strong trend.

The structure eventually formed a double-bottom bull flag, followed by bullish continuation.

The difference between then and now is important.

In 2025, the breakouts led to strong continuation. The higher lows held above previous ranges, confirming the strength of the trend.

Right now, Apple stock keeps returning to trade inside the previous range. That is a sign of weakness.

Is Apple Stock Forming a Bull Trap?

I think the current leg higher in AAPL is much weaker than the bullish trend we saw in 2025.

Repeatedly falling back into the previous trading range suggests that buyers are struggling to maintain control after breakouts.

This is usually a sign that price is forming a leg within a trading range rather than starting a new bullish trend.

That is why I think Apple stock is probably setting up for a bull trap at the moment.

What Happens Next for AAPL Stock?

I see two possible scenarios.

The first is that Apple stock starts forming a trading range right now.

The second is that we get one more new high, which fails, followed by a gradual rollover into a trading range.

I think both scenarios are more likely than a resumption of the bullish trend, with price simply continuing higher.

Apple Stock Price Target: Below $300

My expectation is that Apple stock will eventually move below $300.

The key point is the current market structure. Repeated breakouts that fail to hold above previous ranges are a sign of weakness, and the weekly chart is showing exactly that behavior.

Rather than assuming that the bullish trend will continue, I think traders should pay attention to the possibility that AAPL is transitioning into a trading range.
