Current Positions Overview October 5

oktober 5, 2026 · 4 min read

Our October 5 portfolio overview shows a clear division between short-term, mid-term, and long-term swing trades. The current market bias remains bullish, with the focus on finding the individual stocks where price, structure, probability and risk/reward align.

The key takeaway is simple: not every stock needs to be trending at the same time. In a difficult market, selecting the right setups matters more than constantly trading.

Current Market Bias: Bullish

The current market bias is bullish, with the report marking the trend as bullish since August 4.

At the same time, leverage conditions are described as favorable only for some trades. This is an important distinction because different positions have different time horizons, probabilities and risk characteristics.

The portfolio is divided into three categories:

Short-Term Swing Trades

Short-term positions are designed to play out faster, generally over a period ranging from roughly one hour to one month.

These trades can offer attractive opportunities, but they also come with lower probability compared with longer-term setups. Because they move faster, timing and risk management become especially important.

Current short-term positions include CoreWeave and another long setup, with the focus on relatively fast price movements and clearly defined stops and targets.

Mid-Term Swing Trades

Mid-term trades typically have a timeframe of around one week to five months and are generally considered higher-probability setups.

The current portfolio includes several positions where chart structure remains favorable, while some trades are being managed with smaller position sizes because the setup has already progressed significantly.

This category includes positions such as CoreWeave, Intuitive Surgical, Hims & Hers, and JD.

The idea is not to chase stocks after the strongest part of the move has already happened. Instead, the goal is to manage existing positions and wait for the next opportunity when the risk/reward improves.

Long-Term Swing Trades

The long-term portfolio is focused on positions with a timeframe of approximately one to 24 months.

These are considered the highest-probability trades in the portfolio and are designed to capture much larger market moves.

The current long-term positions include:

Silver
A long-term position based on the broader structure of the silver market.

Sugar
A long-term swing trade that continues to follow its own path.

FCX
Freeport-McMoRan, with the focus on the longer-term setup and a potential future inflection point.

ZETA
Zeta Global, where the entry has been adjusted and the position is being managed around changing probabilities.

PFE
Pfizer, trading within a long-term range with a higher-low structure and an attractive dividend component.

ETH
Ethereum, treated as a long-term position with a much larger potential target. Short-term fluctuations are viewed as part of the process.

RIG
Transocean, where the daily chart is being watched for the development of the current wedge structure.

ROOT
Root, a higher-risk long-term swing where the reward/risk profile compensates for the uncertainty.

HIVE
HIVE Digital Technologies, another high-risk, high-reward setup where position sizing and risk/reward remain particularly important.

BKKT
Bakkt, also treated as a high-risk long-term trade with the potential for significant moves if the underlying structure improves.

Why Position Sizing Matters

One of the most important elements of this portfolio is that not every trade receives the same treatment.

A high-probability long-term setup can justify different position sizing from a short-term trade with lower probability. Likewise, speculative stocks require significantly more discipline because the probability of failure is higher.

This is why risk management remains at the center of the strategy.

The objective is not to win every trade.

The objective is to make sure that when the probabilities are favorable and the risk/reward is attractive, the position is large enough to matter, while losses remain small enough to survive.

Patience Is Part of the Strategy

Many of the positions in the portfolio are currently in ranges, channels, wedges or other consolidation structures.

That means sitting on your hands can be the correct decision.

A position being at the lower end of a range does not automatically mean it should be sold. Likewise, a stock breaking higher does not automatically mean it should be bought.

Price, structure, timing and risk/reward all need to work together.

The Bigger Picture

The October 5 portfolio remains positioned for a bullish market environment, while maintaining flexibility to react if the broader structure changes.

The strategy is built around different time horizons rather than trying to predict every short-term move.

Some trades are designed to move quickly.

Others may take months.

The most important trades are those where the probability of success and potential reward justify taking the risk.

Great companies aren’t enough. Price and timing decide the trade.
